What is EASA AR100 and how does it differ from AR100?

AR100 is the industry standard for the repair of electric motors. EASA AR100 is the certification that proves a shop actually applies that standard in an audited, consistent way. Grupo Marro is the first and only EASA AR100-certified company in Mexico.

Why does it matter for a medium-voltage motor?

On a critical MV motor, an undetected turn-to-turn fault will bring the motor down again within weeks. The AR100 protocol requires surge testing, thermal control during burn-off and verification of the conductor cross-section — exactly the tests that detect and prevent the failures an uncertified rewind lets through.

What happens if I rewind with an uncertified shop?

The risk is not the upfront price: it is recurring failure. Without temperature control during burn-off, the core insulation degrades; without a surge test, the new winding is never validated; and without a test report, you have no way of knowing why it failed or of enforcing a warranty. The real cost shows up at the second shutdown.

Does the certification cover motors of any brand and voltage?

Yes. The AR100 protocol applies to industrial electric motors of any brand, up to medium and high voltage (up to 4160 V and 2000 HP within our scope). We back every repair with a 12-month warranty under our ISO 9001:2015 and EASA AR100 certified systems.

Polarization index (PI), phase-to-phase surge comparison, high-potential (hipot) and core loss testing. With real measurement equipment, not a "visual inspection". Every motor leaves with measured results, not just a sign-off.

Exact winding duplication

The conductor cross-section equals or exceeds the original, and the pattern, pitch and gauge are documented before disassembly. The motor recovers — or improves on — its factory thermal performance, instead of being left "equivalent" but unverified.

As-found / as-left documentation

We deliver a before/after test report and a certificate of conformance. When you present the motor to your plant manager again, you have data that explains what failed and what was corrected — not just "it's done".
